New Delhi: Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019 has also passed in Rajya Sabha. In the Rajya Sabha, the vote was 117 votes in favor and 92 votes in opposition. Earlier during the discussion, some MPs demanded to send this bill to the Select Committee. Voting was also done for this. 99 votes in favor of sending to the Select Committee and 124 against sending. The proposal was brought by TMAC MP Derek O'Brien, which fell. The Shiv Sena did not participate in the voting process. There were 14 proposals for amendment of the bill in Rajya Sabha.

Shiv Sena MPs did not participate in voting on the Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019 in Rajya Sabha. Apart from this, two MPs of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) also did not participate in voting.

CAB has already passed in Lok Sabha

The Citizenship Amendment Bill 2019 has already been passed in the Lok Sabha. In the Lok Sabha, 311 votes were cast in favor and 80 in the opposition. The special thing is that the old saffron party of the BJP had also supported in favor of this bill. However, the Shiv Sena separated itself during voting in the Rajya Sabha.
